Become the user experience leader in your industry.

Centralis conducts UX competitive analyses to determine how you stack up within your industry from a usability perspective. We assess your website or product relative to a chosen set of competitors using our proprietary, research-backed framework of design standards. We determine where your product is leading (and where it is lagging) in terms of user experience. We then identify specific changes that you can make to improve your experience. Additionally, we offer periodic updates to show how your product competes over time.

FAQs about UX Competitive Analyses

What types of experiences can you evaluate?

We evaluate all types of experiences, from public-facing websites to apps and software. We have ways to gain access to private, subscription, or member experiences as well, allowing us to assess aspects of your competition that may not be publicly available.

How often do you update your assessment?

This depends on the industry and its rate of change. We have found that updating our assessment either quarterly or semi-annually is optimal in most cases, as it allows us to frequently check in on competitor redesigns.

What will you need from me?

We’ll begin with a kickoff meeting to identify your competitors and understand the areas of your product that you want to evaluate. Beyond that, we’ll work closely with you to determine the best project timeframe based on the pace of your industry.

How do you select the included competitors?

We work closely with you to determine the best competitors to analyze, depending on your design questions and any gaps in your user knowledge. The final set will include both established and up-and-coming competitors to ensure we are drawing up a representative map of the market.

How long does it take?

The initial benchmarking process generally takes 3-4 weeks, followed by quarterly or semiannual updates that take 1-2 weeks each. However, we are flexible with our timelines and can work with you to schedule in accordance with your business needs.

Why should we trust your judgement?

Great question! Unlike many other design agencies, we specialize 100% in user experience, meaning we have more than two decades of intensive user research at your disposal. We’re focused on you and your users, and our highly educated and experienced team is ready to help your website be the best it can.
