Collaborate with your users to refine your ideas.

Concept testing provides valuable user feedback early in the development process, ensuring that the user experience of your offering is rock-solid from the very beginning. Testing early and often keeps you from going down the wrong road and allows your users to refine your ideas before you commit to building them. We work closely with you to understand your business goals and to illustrate each concept in the best way possible to ensure optimal feedback. We provide informed design recommendations, so you know exactly where to go moving forward.

We help answer questions like:

  • What do users think about all these ideas we have?

  • Which is the best approach to solve this problem?

  • How might users change this idea to meet their needs?

  • Who does it better, our competitors or us?

  • How can we get on the same page internally?

  • How can we successfully enter a new market or industry?

FAQs about Concept Testing

What is a concept?

A concept is an idea made visible via paragraphs, pictures, or prototypes. We give enough substance to your idea so you can evaluate the concept with users before spending time, money, and resources building an untested idea into your product.

Should I test individually or in groups?

It depends on the information you need. Individual sessions work best when you need a deep understanding of user needs and how your concept might fit with users’ behavior. Interactive focus groups are ideal if you want participants to chime in and help you brainstorm ideas. We’ll work with you to decide the best session format for each concept.

How many concepts can I test?

Depending on their complexity, we typically cover 3-5 concepts in a one-hour long research session. We can adjust the session length and number of sessions to accommodate the range of concepts you would like to evaluate.

What will this research help me do?

Concept testing will help you prioritize new ideas for development, enhance concepts based on user needs, and gain internal alignment for your next steps. It provides much-needed user insight that will give you the confidence to move forward with your offerings.
