All Good Things…

An Update from Centralis

For the past 23 years, Centralis has made life easier for people. From the early days of e-commerce through the mobile revolution and into the AI era, we’ve brought the voice of the user into our clients’ products and services. Our small-but-mighty empire has fielded 800+ UX research and design projects involving over 32,000 users; our team tenaciously pursued the best user experiences for each and every one of them.

We – Kathi Kaiser and Lyman Casey – have had the adventure of a lifetime shaping Centralis and watching it grow from its humble roots above Lyman’s garage, to a bustling in-person usability lab, to a nimble, creative fully-remote workforce. Building this company with the support of our clients and colleagues has been an honor and a privilege.

Now, after 23 years, we are each ready for new chapters. As a result, Centralis will wind down its operations at the end of 2024. During our time at Centralis, our own families have expanded, our children have grown and flown, and our respective interests for the future have diverged. Starting in 2025, we will each chart our own new paths.

Many of our valued team members have already undertaken their own exciting new challenges. Over the years, Centralis employed 33 people. Many “Centraliens” were entry-level and/or career switchers when they came aboard, and they grew with us as the company evolved. We are proud to have played a role in launching the careers of these brilliant, dedicated UX professionals.

We are deeply grateful for the partnership and trust our clients and partners have placed in us over the years. We are better for having known, served, and learned from you.

Although Centralis is closing its doors, we hope you will feel free to contact either of us at any time for advice, outside perspective, or help with whatever projects come your way. Stay tuned via Linked In to hear more about our respective plans in 2025 and beyond!

Our very best wishes always,

Kathi Kaiser & Lyman Casey
