User Interface Design

Centralis creates smart, usable interface designs for consumer and business-facing websites and applications.  We align your business objectives with customer needs to design profitable products that are a joy to use.

Structuring the Experience
Centralis will define a vision for your product grounded in your business objectives and driven by user needs. We bring the vision to life by illustrating how the user experience will be organized, structured and presented. This may include:

  • Defining personas and scenarios to describe different types of users, their specific goals and how they might use your product to accomplish those goals. A robust set of personas and scenarios serves as a valuable framework for creating and evaluating the design.
  • Creating process flows to illustrate the steps users will take to complete key scenarios. We use process flows to ensure that the user experience is straightforward and efficient, while addressing business objectives and technological constraints.
  • Establishing an information architecture, or structure for organizing information within a product or website. An effective information architecture makes it easy for users to find what they’re looking for, while also making the content easier for you to catalog and maintain. We generally illustrate information architectures with site maps and product maps.
  • Designing wireframes, or schematics that depict each element of the user interface. Serving as blueprints for the user experience, wireframes define the basic layout of each page and illustrate how interactive elements will behave.
  • Creating prototypes to illustrate to stakeholders, developers and users how the interface will function. Ranging from paper mock-ups to semi-functional clickable interfaces, we use prototypes to communicate the interaction design and gather feedback.

An Iterative Process

We believe the best design emerges from a collaborative process focused on strategic objectives and user goals. We iterate our work based on your feedback as well as input from users – either through informal feedback sessions or formal usability testing.
